Open House

The Open House is a go. Thanks to the sunshine the streets should be good and dry. Those wanting to carpool, meet at Central Presbyterian Church on the upper parking deck at Hanley and Davis in Clayton at 9:30 am.

If you are driving on your own and there are no parking spaces on Tower Grove in front of the school, drive past the school to Vista, there are usually parking spaces there. Be mindful of one-way streets in the neighborhood.

We’ll see you tomorrow morning!

What Will the Morning of the Open House Include?

10:00-10:20 am – Gather, Meet and Greet, Enjoy some refreshments, Hear some opening remarks.
10:20-10:45 am – Tours of the school led by Adams Student Ambassadors.
10:45 – 11:15 am – Hear from Principal Miller, Adams Teachers and Staff, some current Friends of Adams Volunteers and Adams Students.
11:15 – 11:30 am – Ask Questions about Volunteering at Adams.

Where Is Adams Located?

Adams Elementary School is on Tower Grove Avenue two blocks south of Manchester in “The Grove” neighborhood. Take the Tower Grove exit (one exit east of Kingshighway) south off I-64 and you’re almost there.

Where Do I Park?

There is free street parking all around Adams School which encompasses the entire city block. Carpooling would be a great idea, too. Invite a friend and make it a morning!

What If I Have No Idea Whether Volunteering is for Me?

Then this Open House is absolutely for you. We just want you to see the school, meet the staff and the kids and get a better appreciation for the need. Volunteering is usually nothing more than reading with kids and giving them some attention for an hour or so per week. You’re making no commitment. Just come and see.

However, if you think you might want to give this a try, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know to get started.

How Do I Let You Know I’d Like to Come to the Open House?

Please email us at to let us know if you can come so we know how many guests to expect.

This will be a great opportunity for you to visit a fantastic school, meet some really nice people and, we hope, consider becoming a Friend of Adams.
